    Resisting Climate Hysteria

This discussion has been running for so long now that is interesting to go back to prior comments: This is from Julia (R.I.P) from 2009 "An example was the headlines today that coastal inundation is going to affect hundreds of thousands of households and businesses. Only at the end of the...

P2: A batch of FX market trades

Hi Peter, Thanks for resurrecting this thread. Looking forward to your next FX Project. I have taken a short on the AUD/USD 1hr chart today, based on the price retracement. Have only set target at 1.5 R as I am a bit wary of the buy support zone. The rise up only had small tick volume...

P2: A batch of FX market trades

This position finally hit 1R target. Now it has finally decided to take off, it was a bit like watching paint dry there for a while.

P2: A batch of FX market trades

Thanks Peter, Going Sideways at the moment. Looks like traders are waiting for the Nondefense Capital Goods report later tonight. I knew this one was going to be a grind, so in hindsight I should have waited for a better entry, with improved risk reward ratio.

P2: A batch of FX market trades

Re-read this thread last night, lots of great trading advice here. Peter, what do you think of this AUD/USD buy on the 4hr chart. Price is sitting on daily 200 moving average at the moment. So could see a push above soon. There is supply at 1 R, but I think it is worth the risk.

P2: A batch of FX market trades

I Like your approach here Captain Black, You have given me some interesting ideas, thanks. I have started focusing more on probability on my systems, and definitely do not think it is waffle. Increasing trade volume on low risk setups, decreasing on high risk. Looking for repeatable patterns...

P2: A batch of FX market trades

Peter, Personally, I have found using an ADX filter for trending systems is quite a simple and effective component. I.e. Trending if above >=25 or ranging if below. Then decide if you want to pause trading or switch to another system. You can use one bot, which switches between the two modes...

P2: A batch of FX market trades

Coming back to your pinbar coding and analysis from last year lol. Have you implemented an additional check/filter for double top with pinbars? Such as that displayed on your previous screenshot below, and another example.

P2: A batch of FX market trades

Hi Peter, I have just checked up on this thread after a while. Did you end up finding the currency strength indicator? This may be the one you are referring to. This is actually a binary file, so you need to change the extension to '.ex4'. Plus, I have included an absolute strength...

    AUD/USD

Hi Cogs, This downtrend is reminding me of the flash clash which happened earlier in the year. A lot of negative market sentiment relating to AUD, yet retail traders are heavily long (87% on my broker so far, creeping up quickly), but the price is not budging upwards. Poor souls... I agree...

    TLS - Telstra Corporation

Sptrawler, I already find my mobile 4G connection faster than my Telstra cable connection most of the time and more reliable (I don't remember ever being not able to access my phone internet). I find it kind of ironic that I used to get 100 Mbps 8 years ago on my connection, and the top NBN...

    Analysing trading accounts

This Hamster Infinity looks fishy to me. The returns look too good to be true. 1:500 leverage! The equity curve gives you a clue. It is smooth except for regular sharp draw downs of 10% or more, yet the largest loss is currently listed as -1.87 EUR. Check out the MFE and MAE Distribution...

    Analysing trading accounts

Hi James, Have another look at your first two examples (510980, 529774). Pay particular attention to deposit load, best trade, and worst trade. Compare the withdrawals and deposits on both accounts. Which would you prefer now?

    AUD/USD

Hi thomasc, I would be careful with this strategy if you are starting out, as more often than not you will be flattened by the downward momentum. This happened in a matter of minutes. When do you pick the bottom? There had already been big falls for a number of days before this and according...
