Good morning everyone and welcome to the August 2018 stock tipping competition entry thread! :)

This month's competition is proudly sponsored by Pepperstone - The World's Leading Forex Broker.

Pepperstone is an Online Forex (FX) Trading Broker, providing traders across the globe with cutting edge forex trading technology to offer unmatched top tier liquidity, institutional grade spreads and the security of tight financial regulation. Pepperstone offers online forex trading through multiple forex trading platforms, including Metatrader 4, Webtrader and Apps for iPhone and Android.

A quick recap of the rules for those not familiar with them:

1. Each entrant may choose one ASX listed stock. Options, warrants and deferred settlement shares are not permitted.

2. Stocks with a price of less than $0.01 are ineligible for the competition, as are stocks that are currently suspended from trading.

3. After posting your entry and before the deadline for entries you must post in the forum thread on that stock providing either a general update or a view on why you think the share price is going to increase in the short term.

4. The winner is the entrant whose selected stock performs the best in percentage terms between August 1 and August 31.

5. The maximum number of entrants in the competition is 100.

The competition winner will receive $100. The second placegetter will win $50 and the third placegetter $25.

You have until midnight on Tuesday, July 31 to enter. However, in practice, entries can be submitted until this thread is closed. No entries submitted after that can be accepted for any reason.

Please post your entries in this thread. Remember, once you have selected your stock, you CANNOT change it for any reason.

Best of luck to all entrants! :D

EVN again thanks Joe.
Even though Au has broken support affecting all/most goldies, my contrarian ways have been piqued.

CXO again as well thanks Joe :)

Core Exploration Ltd (ASX:CXO) managing director Stephen Biggins speaks with Proactive Investors about the key Finniss Lithium Project. "Core is developing one of the Australia's highest grade lithium deposits...we've got a project that will deliver high profits, good margins, high NPV"says Mr Biggins. The company has completed its pre-feasibility study on the deposit and sees an operating profit of around 60% with a payback period of 12 months. Core Exploration has already established an offtake agreement with Chinese lithium producer Yahua, which will also provide a pre-payment facility to help develop the project. Lithium demand worldwide is going from strength to strength with the rise of electric vehicles and China's tighter environmental controls being key drivers.

Hi Joe
Can I choose PHK Phoslock? I have already posted.

Very few entries again so far this month. We need at least 20 entries to proceed with the August competition so please get your entries in if you would like to see the stock tipping competition go ahead next month.

To those who may not be aware, please note the new rule which was introduced for the first time in the July competition:

3. After posting your entry and before the deadline for entries you must post in the forum thread on that stock providing either a general update or a view on why you think the share price is going to increase in the short term.

Looking forward to seeing more competition entries. :)

HE8 for me.
reason - broker recommendation to be a very promising one.
Holding for short term though

Hi Joe,

I'll go 4DS please - pure high risk / high reward spec play but I like the story and think it'll gather momentum towards the end of the month.

Will post in the appropriate thread shortly.

UNV,

Hoping for some more guidance in August. Very cheap stock just need the market to realise

CXL - Calix

Just floated a week ago and skyrocketing..

Rhipe Ltd (RHP).

Software and IT provider that seems to have turned it's revenues around since last year. Also started to pay dividends this year. Commented in a RHP thread.

Coincidently and derived from hope, the presenter's take-home slide is the same slide presentation the presenter wants everyone to uhh, take home. $1M per year "reocurring" (different from recurring which happens repeatedly) revenue = worth mentioning? Over $100M tax "loses" (the S key has a dust build up?) Surely they need a new writer or ditch that yank spell checker.

I'll go for SEA again this month, thanks Joe. Let's hope they are due for another step up :)

I'll go with FGR again thanks Joe. FGR have signed a deal with flexeGRAPH for the testing of their graphene in cooling systems.
