Hi All

I thought I'd start up an "Alumni" or "Old Boys/Girls" club for the ASF Class of 2005. It won't be long and we will be looking at our 10 year reunion!

Just wondering who else was from the "Class of 2005" that still visit and post on ASF? The most famous one I know is the irreplaceable Julia.

It is amazing to think that we've been having cyber-conversations with the same people for nearly 10 years!

Anyway - if you are around this vintage. Please post and tell us how your life has changed since first joining, funny things you remember on ASF or anything you like.

Regards
Duckman

Hi Duckman - maybe there's not many of us left as there are no responses?

My life has certainly changed and I am not trading at all at present due to the family situation which is highly demanding.

How is life going for you and all your little ducklings?

I've been going since October 2004.

Have learnt to take people less seriously.

Now more heavily invested in shares than I have ever been.

Some good comments, humour and thinking here.

I recall when i joined it was mostly Frink, Wayne, Bullmarket..lol, YT, Tech, etc...

Stick chatter was the busiest thing...mining boom central!

Hello again Duckman, sorry, I didn't notice this thread until now.

Canoz, the mention of Professor Frink is welcome. Is he still around at all? Many like him are missed with their thoughtful comments.

Duckman, I'm certain you will remember Prospector. I think you had quite a crush on her:):):)
We are in touch from time to time. She and her husband went through a difficult time as a result of a business partnership. All sorted now, but very tough going for some months.

Lol, bullmarket! Funny how some people can be basically well meaning but drive one nuts.

For myself, not much has really changed. Not sure how to regard that.
With respect to the forum, unhappily I think the general tone is much more aggressive and divisive, more inflammatory posts which of course then provoke an ongoing chain of the same, particularly in the political threads.

Glad to know all the ducklings are thriving, Duckman

Cheers
Julia

Chicken and YOUNG-TRADER certainly stand out for me. I don't think either of them have posted in a while, or they have adopted new user-names.

or they have adopted new user-names.

It is against ASF policies to allow multi-nics and it is a bannable offense. If users want to change their name it has to be approved by Joe and it is then posted in a thread that that user has changed name.

Of course, and speeding is illegal too....

Without meaning to derail this thread but there is some quite sophisticated software used for picking up multi-nics. Of course in theory it is possible to get around, but i personally know of loads that have been stopped. If you wanted more info Joe might be able to provide it

Yeah i recall Prospector too Juila...and Bronte...

Who was the one that had all the Uranium mining shares...figures they retired a millionaire lol...

My mum walked me in to ASFwarts in January 2006, and I have learnt so much from all the posters in all the many threads since then. Thanks.

Thanks especially to Joe and the poor long suffering moderators.

Do I qualify as an alumnus, or am I still a "new boy "?

gg

LOL, i'm guessing this wasn't because of that dodgy connection all this time? did they have 3g back then:confused:

Ha ha, no, a few people were really pi$$ing me off at the time and I found a couple of better places where there were more experienced traders.

Cheers

2005 for myself. I lurked for a long time reading and learning from what people had to say, and have only recently de-cloaked on a regular basis.

Remember back about 2003
In Sydney and caught up with
10 or so members of Stock Central.

What a mix
Dr Jeff Eisman a real character and one of Australia's experts in arthritis.
Rooboy great fun name reflects the character.
Sea change another Doctor added to the fun.
Armory hill strange very strange. Really old guy who wanted to meet my wife.
She Wasn't there!
Forget the guys name who ran Stock Central he was an Asian entrepreneur.
That's all I can remember ---- was a great night finished late.

Don't think any more post.
Caught up with Country Guy not long after in Cairns.
Good bloke and his posts indicate the no nonsense
Man he is. ( good rap C/L! )

Met quite a few over the years.
Like all communities a diversity of people.

Shucks tech, you made me blush.

It was Austin Hui. The other character was fastoy, very experienced, into motorbikes and fast cars.
