Haven't they already blown up?

It's now just a matter of the dust settling till they get ousted at the next election.

No sane person would step in to the poisoned shoes of Ruddard before the next vote..

They can't see the mushroom cloud as they are looking away hoping not to hear the inevitable kaboom.

What they can't change however is the fact that light travels faster than sound.

There is enough gas produced from loopy righties here who have made poor financial choices and feel the need to vent to blow up most governments they just dont have the numbers.:D

Actually todster, I'm thinking of retiring next week. LOL
As for blowing up the government, not required they are doing a great job on their own.

The original alliterative version sounds better, viz "loopy lefties"; and as sp says, the "right" (whatever that means these days) don't have to do a thing.

Will the government blow up this week? No! They still have two years to go. Two years for Abbott to make all sorts of ridiculous commitments and back track the next day. Two years for Abbott to ignore strategy and continue his tactical short term errors.
 
yes australia's big top still has a few acts to go and if they bring in any more clowns there will be no room for the patrons:horse::horse:

Ahh yes... The wonders of crawling through roofs, banging in clips and then stumbling across someone's DIY "birds nest" of crumbling rubber, a few bits of TPS and some speaker wire wrapped up in tape... :D

As for the government, it's like being in a plane flying over the ocean that runs out of fuel. You might as well have a bit of fun while the descent lasts, because your chances of survival are very slim indeed. :2twocents

Abbott was useless and done at every turn in Parliament today. What a yob.

In two years he will be a liability as more people get sick of nothing.

Looks like we disagree once again, Explod...:)

Abbott isn't perfect, but he has seen off one PM (Rudd) and brought the coalition sufficiently back to life after the 2007 decimation to give labor a tough fight in their second term which I understand is quite unusual.

And, I also understand, that it is quite usual for an opposition leader to be lagging in satisfaction polls because the very nature of the job is largely negative. And with the continual incompentencies of this government, it's actually difficult to find anything much to be positive.

Now we have Gillard bulldozing ahead with her carbon tax legislation which is clearly against the will of the majority of the people. Dictators lead but a democratic government should be representing the will of the people. It's going to cost Australia a heap of money to untangle the carbon tax mess and it should really be put to the people by referrendum or election before it is legislated. And you wonder why Abbott is so negative?

Abbott is keeping enormous pressure on the incompentencies of this government - and that takes some persistence. He is working hard and getting out to the people. I don't think he is seen as doing nothing except by the rusted on labor/green supporters.
 
To add to what sails is saying, Abbott has forced Labor into a confrontation by not supporting the Malaysia part of new legislation.
Gillard has stared down the left wing demanding they support offshore detention, if Abbott doesn't support it, the Greens definitely won't.
All of a sudden it is another stuff up, because they haven't formulated the basis of the deal before trying to steamroll it through.
One would have thought she would have formed a basis of agreement with Abbott before reading the riot act to her own party.
However it is obvious that she has tried to be that sharp, she has cut herself, yet again.
She really needs to have a look at herself and realise just because she says something doesn't automatically make it gospel.
 
the problem as i see it (and i say that as a true born and raised Australian) - too large a number of aussies are idiots - the current power of the Greens is proof. recent polls have shown if an election was held now between gillard, rudd and abbott - Rudd would win. People have forgoten how useless he was in the job and feel sorry for him for how it ended (not that he has done bad for himself mind you - $1 million in travel expenses in 9 months? foreign minister or not thats a little excessive)

in saying that i dont think Abbott can win an election - I like the bloke dont get me wrong but i cant see him winning an election, he doesnt have the charisma, Gillard has proven that just because you failed year 11 economics (i imagine) and couldn't negotiate the pants off a hooker, doesn't mean you cant have the top job, its charisma that wins elections these days and abbott simply doesn't have it - give the job to Joe Hockey i reckon :)
