Where is "La Dolce Vita"?

Well if I can ever convince the wife (which I doubt as she likes her creature comforts of the big city too much), I'd happily seachange to Exmouth on the W.A. coast.

Tropical weather
Great beaches
Dive Ningaloo reef from the shoreline
Awesome fishing in Shark Bay
Cape Range National Park on it's doorstep
Beachfront acreage on the cheap

Spent a couple of months there as a lad drinking beer and chasing girls.

Cheers

Sir O

Exmouth, great from May to September. Bloody hot the rest of the time, I mean 44+ hot.
Perth, probably the best place to live, if you earn enough money for holidays.
Plenty of work, good wages, great climate but limited things to do once you have lived here a few years.
It has improved since the G.F.C though a lot of the touring shows are now comming to Perth, whereas pre G.F.C most used to bypass.

Something I forgot to mention about Melbournians. They act like hysterical sheep in a paddock. Today we have Cadel Evans riding his bike through the city centre and the place is packed with nimrods standing around looking to get a glimpse of him. A week ago, The Block (tv series) houses were open to the public - people queued for 3 hours to walk through an average renovated Richmond house. The whole of Richmond came to a stand still. When Oprah was here, Fed Square was absolutely jam packed with people screaming and squealing.

How is it that a grown adult can stand in a massive crowd like this for many hours when nothing is actually on offer? To glimpse someone from 100 metres away? Are they insane?!! There's something very wrong with people who would even consider doing that.

The Americanization of Australian culture.

You obviously haven't lived in Sydney. You get Australian B grade celebrities here that draw crowds. WTF?!?
