Mesdames et Messieurs,

This is the quality of jokers who run our international money.

Gawd knows what our local financial head honchos get up to.

The leader of the International Monetary Fund was pulled from an aeroplane moments before he was to fly to Paris and is being questioned by police in connection with the sexual assault of a maid at a hotel, US police say.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn was taken off the Air France flight at John F Kennedy International Airport by officers from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and was turned over to police on Saturday afternoon [New York time], New York Police Department spokesman Paul J Browne said.

He was being questioned by the NYPD special victims unit.
No charges have yet been filed.

The 32-year-old woman told authorities that she entered Strauss-Kahn's room at the Sofitel near Manhattan's Times Square on Saturday afternoon and he emerged from the bedroom naked, threw her down and tried to sexually assault her, Browne said.

She somehow broke free and escaped the room, telling hotel staff what had happened, authorities said.

When police detectives arrived moments later, Strauss-Kahn had already left the hotel, leaving behind his mobile phone and other personal items, Browne said.

He was the head of IMF a.k.a I'M F*&K
Makes you wonder where we will find decent people when you look at all USA has offered, UK and OZ.
See Huckabee is not running a man who thinks the world is 5,000 yrs old.

IMF head Strauss-Kahn charged with attempted rape of hotel maid

By PHILIP MESSING, JAMIE SCHRAM, LARRY CELONA and BILL SANDERSON

The French political bigshot who heads the International Monetary Fund was arrested for allegedly sodomizing a Manhattan hotel maid yesterday -- hauled off an Air France flight just moments before takeoff from Kennedy Airport, police sources said.

Three Port Authority detectives pulled Dominique Strauss-Kahn from the plane's first-class cabin just two minutes before it was due to depart for Paris, according to the police sources.

Strauss-Kahn, 62 -- who was expected to challenge French President Nicholas Sarkozy in the 2012 election -- was turned over to NYPD officers and brought to the Special Victims Unit's uptown squad room.

Strauss-Kahn is awaiting arraignment on charges of a criminal sex act, attempted rape and unlawful imprisonment, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.

The trouble began at around 1 p.m. yesterday when a 32-year-old housekeeper entered Strauss-Kahn's $3,000-a-night suite at the luxury Sofitel on West 44th Street -- apparently unaware he was still inside.

The married Strauss-Kahn was in the bathroom, and emerged naked, chased her down a hallway and pulled her into a bedroom, where "he jumps her," a source said.

"She pulled away from him and he dragged her down a hallway into the bathroom where he engaged in a criminal sexual act, according to her account to detectives," Browne said. "He tried to lock her into the hotel room."

Soon afterward, Strauss-Kahn got dressed and headed off to JFK for a flight to Paris.

When he was approached on the plane by Port Authority cops, he said, "What is this about?" sources said. He was taken off the aircraft without handcuffs.

Two law-enforcement sources said Strauss-Kahn was trying to flee authorities. Police said he left his cellphone and other personal items in the room.

"It looked like he got out of there in a hurry," Browne said.

Strauss-Kahn, who had a meeting planned for today with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, has an arrangement with Air France that allows him to get on any flight and sit in first class, the sources said. He was traveling alone.

Browne said Strauss-Kahn does not have diplomatic immunity. He was expected to be brought to court today. High-profile criminal defense lawyer Ben Brafman told The Post he will be defending Strauss-Kahn -- but by late last night, had not yet spoken with him.

The victim was taken to Roosevelt Hospital, where she was treated for trauma.

The shocking arrest came hours after a Socialist Party ally of Strauss-Kahn accused Sarkozy of kicking off a smear campaign against his longtime rival -- focusing on his lavish lifestyle, including his preference for suits from the same tailor favored by President Obama.

"There is now a totally structured and orchestrated campaign, which has already been announced by Mr. Sarkozy and his closest allies, to attack the character of Strauss-Kahn," Socialist politician Jean-Marie Le Guen told Europe 1 radio.

Strauss-Kahn's stint at the helm of the IMF in Washington does not officially end until September 2012, several months after the scheduled date of France's presidential vote.

But the French political world has been buzzing with speculation that the man popularly known as "DSK" would bring a premature end to his tenure and throw his hat in the ring.

And some opinion polls suggested he would win.

In France's 2007 elections, Strauss-Kahn lost the Socialist nomination to Segolene Royal, who in turn was defeated in the general election by Sarkozy, leader of the right-wing Union for a Popular Movement.

But Sarkozy, who still sees Strauss-Kahn as his likeliest electoral rival, is believed to have maneuvered Strauss-Kahn out of France by backing him to head the Washington-based IMF.

A spokeswoman for the State Department had no comment, nor did a spokesperson for the French Embassy. The IMF did not return calls seeking comment.

Right again GG
He certainly had all the necessary qualifications no ethic's, no morals, loves to rob the poor and assumed a 3000 USD a night room included the maid, made a mess of the world economy, did a runner , ever knew pride comes before a fall, will now go out on a great pension, or a nice job some where like Monaco divorced, could not have happened to a nicer man.

Too true mate.

He flies high, he falls hard.

He may get off on diplomatic immunity, but I doubt it.

Financial advisers.

All the same.

Root you as soon as look at you.

This seems totally shocking and bizarre.:confused::confused:

Let's accept the guy wanted some extra marital sex. Okay affairs, call girls even casual pick ups would be on the cards.

But this seems to be a mad, practically public brutal rape with. apparently, a ton of evidence ? It appears to be the act of a completely uncontrolled sex fiend - which on the surface doesn't fit a person with such a demanding, public position. It will be very interesting to hear what has been alleged to have happened and what sort of defense is offered

Sadly I think their ego writes cheques their body can't cash to quote Charlie Sheen and the money, power got to their head most of the time some times the power bases moves down.

So look what he has now no one will talk to him she wife is most likely changing the locks and seening the attorney asap , lets hope he doesn't get rewarded with a nice job.
Wonder who the next one will be.

I originally thought the violence seemed bizarre and out of character. Turns out that our little friend has been an energetic chaser and catcher of skirt since he started growing hairs.

Apparently it is understood and seemingly tacitly accepted in France that Strauss-Khan can proposition and attempt to "seduce" women at will. This seems to be "the French way". There are some excellent background stories now coming out.

Trouble was no-one told the maid that he was "Dominque Strass-Kahn" and that his seduction techniques were simply the French way of letting someone know you really fancied them. It is going to so interesting to see how this all washes up. Somehow I can't see him spending 10-20 years in jail regardless of the facts.

The French believe he has been set up.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/wo...de-watch-in-jail/story-e6frf7lf-1226058026534

MOST French people believe embattled IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who is facing sex charges in New York, is "the victim of a plot", an opinion poll shows.

I figured he was having a shower while waiting for a high priced prostitute to turn up in a naughty maid out-fit. Then when the real maid walked in, he chased her arround assuming her protestations were part of the act of his hired call girl.

At some point he must have realised that she was the hotel hired help and not his "morning glory hired help". The maid did a runner and so did he.

Can't see him getting bail as he has already tried to do a runner.

It's quite a leap from having an extramarital affair with a work colleague to attempted rape of a maid. He may or may not be guilty, it may or may not have been a set up - the 'facts' reported in the media don't seem to make a lot of sense and obviously aren’t the full story. Somehow, I just can't see a portly 61 year old guy, no matter how virile, dragging a young 6ft tall woman down a corridor. One thing's for certain, he clearly has issues when it comes to women. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. One thing though, I feel sorry for these other women who have to suffer their names in the press each day. Can't be very pleasant!

I don't feel that the New York judiciary should grant this joker bail.

He will pull a Polanski, and leg it again.

Remember the Rainbow Warrior, comrades. They legged it, and when they served time in a French prison, they were released early. No couth at all, the French.

See the woman he was suppose to molest was from Guinea so not racist and his side kick Arnold Swartz****** was having it off with a woman big enough to have her own post code so it looks like any port will do.
GG you are right about the Frog's those who sank the R.W were classed as hero's and belong to the secret service, only good thing in France is the letters.

Greg and Gg,
just a bit of context: he was to be declared the opposition candidate within days and with prime position by far in the polls; There is also a bit of power play as to the IMF leadership just to spice the case

While I have no respect for the man who has been playing in the shark pool for so long; I am in the 80/20 % opinion that he is being framed by French services (with or wo US help);
In my opinion:
The single witness ie the woman: poor single mother black immigrant disabled (no, they did not go that far but a shame they could not) will conveniently disappear (in a witness protection program if the US are involved or hit by a bus, or "be suicided" : you understand: the shame...);
In the meantime, Sarkosy will have a chance to be re-elected and the Frenchs and the Brits can carry on the US dirty job in Libya..Nice pleasing deal for every one involved.
Just think:
Why the hell would someone with at least average iQ (and I believe well above average), immense wealth, rape anyone when escorts are so cheap.
I take this with as much belief as I would learning that Warren Buffet has been arrested for robbing the corner store for 50$
After the weapon of mass destructions, the angelic siria, Bahrein invation but evil Libya, and yesterday's all clear of the australian soldiers who wipe out 5 or 6 afghan kids (but we are there to help them of course), I really think it is time to realise how much manipulation we are under.
And yes I was born a frog...but proud aussie now
Cheers

I guess when the trial comes around we might find out a bit more starting to look like he was set up but he is still running his socialist party only resigned from IMF.
Maybe they will get the umbrella man in from the KGB to give him a jab in th leg with a bit from the Jap reactor?????

But he must be in Paris in person if he wants to contest for presidency, which can no more happens so the nice smile on sarkozy's face;

apologies for the typos by the way in initial email..was a bit early
anyway just wanted to say there is probably much more under this story that what it seems
here we have leaders who were not elected but pretend to be, an opposition leader no one wants (Mr Speedo) but who sees no problem with that , but nothing as twisted as french politics yet

Cheers have a nice week end;
