Did you get any info on them? I found some presumably negative feedback on a consumer site but the details had been ""removed at the request of APSEC"". One wonders what that all might mean. Am reluctant to commit to anything unless I can get some feedback about them. Has anyone used them?

It seems they target people who type in all caps.

This is the opinion I got of them after a few telephone conversations after being cold called by them. They are hard sell, go for the close sales people. They work hard into closing you. Listen to all the background noise in their boiler-room of cold-calling telemarketers next time they call. They couldn't close me so they got another more senior person on the phone next time to try and close me. They talk and talk and talk and try and talk you into a close asking lots of rhetorical questions you agree with to work you towards a close. At the time they called I was thinking seriously about getting a full service broker so they did get me at good time. When I discussed about the SMSF portfolio a bit the just wouldn't let go of me, wanting to get their hands on my portfolio. I told them that if I was going to do business with them and have them as my broker that the next step would be for me to come to their offices and meet them. They didn't offer to meet me. Instead they tried to sell me on the urgency of getting my portfolio to their analyst for urgent review. This was all around the time the market tanked mid 2011. Their address is listed as Potts Point which is no a business district.

When I finally told the guy that I wasn't going to be doing business with him he slammed the phone down. No "Thanks for considering us." or "Hopefully in the future we can do business" or "thanks for letting me waste your time" or simple "Good-bye".

They market various small capital raising share issues which they no doubt get commission on.

Thanks Tinhat..my experience was very similar.I found it curious though that there was little feedback about them available via the net. Had an instinct that something may be amiss hence my plea for feedback.I had another cold call a few weeks back from a Qld mob called Active Traders and I was dropped like a hot spud when I suggested I would pop in to see them when in Qld in a few months time. One cannot be too careful huh?

I have had 3 phone calls over the past month trying to sign me up. Went for the hard sell today - second BIG mistake. First warning bell was cold calling, however I can never remember whom I have talked to, so gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Their website is `under construction' and all links from google are what I use for my websites, i.e. hotfrog, truelocal, etc. This made me think they were not professional. Have not read anything positive about them. After reading these blogs, will definately not be doing business with them.

I`ve been phoned 3 times in the last couple of weeks first out of the blue. Nice to start of with but the last call was full on wouldn`t take no for an answer so had to hang up. Very aggro approach which automatically sends alarm bells off. Give em a wide berth unless you like playing with hot coals and puttig your tongue on dry ice.

Someone asked me what I meant by "boiler room". I mean "A room staffed with telemarketers who use high-pressure sales tactics to sell stock, commodities, or land, etc". This is my opinion based on the experience I had with them. I am not implying anything else, and don't have any reason to believe they are not complying with the securities license under which they do business. :)

My experience and views are the same. These guys have tried wining my business since Sep/Oct 2012 and today is April2013. I have not been able to find any independent information on APSEC or their services. they seem to have a lot of time to chase people - the small fish like me and their service is more expensive than Morningstar newsletter. I wonder what their business model is.

Their website to me looks too much of a mockup that real. No real information about their profile, their team, their service offering etc etc..

Got a call from them today...

I found they are also recruiting naive salespeople on seek.

Looking for a Broker.

I am new to this page. I have question about a trading company. Does anyone know any information about APSEC Atlantic Pacific Securities? I have been talking to them about a full service brokerage service, but I am trying to find as much information about them as I can. What you be a normal account fee for a year to give you monthly trading pick and service from a broker?

Any information would be great

Thanks

Their website shows very little info.

How much does their full brokerage service cost? 1-2% of trade is considered expensive (prob a min fee of at least $50)

They are asking for $1000 a year plus 1% or $100 for each trade? I am thinking this is a lot per year. They tell me they will send me up to 4 trading pics with information each month. I have not found to much information about them. This is turning me of them and the limited information on there web page. They say I have to pay the money before they can talk to much about trading plans. As I am very new to trading and do not have a broker. Is this normal?

It has been great to find some views on APSEC. they are planning on ring me again on Wednesday. it started with a cold call as we. I took the call from a blocked number for once. I spoke to them and was telling them I would think about it. they would ring me every other day. then a high up called on the blocked number so I would not pick up, and with in 2 hours they would call back on the number from the office. The guy who called last week used his mobile and has the broker calling me this week. After the comments on here I am going to tell them NO THANK YOU.

I did think something was wrong with them, now I know there is.
Thanks

ANY ONE HAD ANY DEALINGS OR KNOW OF APSEC Atlantic Pacific Securities Products

I have here for 6 month my link is not my real name
I am a good sales men and decided to go into stock side of things since i trade part time to have a feel

talk about dodgy work wanting you to read a two page script word for word and trying to close the deal on the spot
i am not one of those type of sales people these guys made big money and didn't know anything about stock just more worried about the sale that why i had to leave i learnt if you want to make money do your own homework learn to critically think before investing that is the key.:)

I got woken with a call from this mob this morning. The leading questions, addressing every objection and ABC (always be closing) aspects of the call were consistent with the comments of others in this thread.

As I have not availed myself of their services (and have no intention of doing so) I cannot make definitive comments on the quality of their offered service.

However, when greeted with claims of superior returns from cold calling marketers I am of the opinion that it is prudent not to entertain such claims with anything less than an extreme level of scepticism.

I, too, have just received a call from them.

I enjoyed the banter.

APSEC: "Are you still interested in equities?"

Me: Yes

APSEC: "How is the market treating you at the moment?" (for those reading historically, the market had just fallen 5% or so in the last few days so I made money short selling).

Me: Wonderful! Couldn't be better!

APSEC: [surprised pause, then back on script] "Would you like to make better returns on your money?"

Me: I suggested that my returns are way superior than what they could offer & quoted the actual % return I made last year.

APSEC: [another surprised pause]

:D

Thats when you should seize the initiative.

"Do you want to know how I made so much? Its really easy! And right for $4999.95 I'm willing to share..."
