It appears that CDI - Challenger Diversified was listed in 2006 and commenced trading in the vicinity of $4.00 per share/unit. Like most A-REIT's the share price was savaged between November 2007 and early 2009. Since then there has been a slow improvement in the share price. However the share price has been pushed down again recently with the exodus of foreign investor funds from Australia, below the net tangible assets of $2.74 per share. A chart showing its passage for the past seven years is attached below:

Since the last post, the share price has rebounded to a high of $2.59 only to retrace to $2.45.

To my mind the daily turnover is extremely low making it a difficult share to trade. Maybe one for the buy and hold brigade?

The parent company has launched a takeover bid of $2.74 for those shares it doesn't already own. And the market reacted accordingly pushing the share price up to the bid level. Interestingly the market didn't push higher looking for a top up.....

Great if you were holding. Maybe a case of "take the money and run..."
 
On July 7th, 2014, Challenger Diversified Property Group (CDI) was removed from the ASX's official list following compulsory acquisition by Challenger Life Nominees Pty Ltd.
