Interesting-looking book recently published by Robert F. Kennedy Jr
There are two parts... I'll post part 2 first. (which cuts to the quick of this matter). :(

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: truth about the Bush presidency 2
The setting: a forum exploring the Liberalism and Conservatism of the 60s, via reactions to the re-publication of Barry Goldwater's 'Conscience of a Conservative' and JK Galbraith's 'New Industrial State.' Robert F. Kennedy Jr., now a law professor, makes devastating comments about the current administration while demonstrating that Goldwater's ideas, and true Conservatism, are the antithesis of Bush, his cronies, and the Republican party. Completely extemporaneous - a masterpiece

Here's part 1 ( in case you want to do it in logical sequence...)

But the bloke who follows him in the speeches (at end of part 2) is heard to say "why do I get the tough act to follow?" - and you have to believe that he means it lol.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: truth about the Bush presidency 1

Presumably this bloke won't go into politics - values his life too much maybe? :(

Thanks for bringing this to attention 2020, excellent. Interesting, my Dad has been dead 40 years now and the philosophy espoused by Bobby in the above was the grass roots norm back then. Dad recieved bad injuries on N.G. WW2 but interesting never wanted to talk about it and hated the glorification on Anzac Day etc., My Grandfather similar from WW1 had the same problem with the celebrations.

Yet our estemed leaders want to bring it all on and make the youth think it is great. Interesting when Bobby said that the current Fed Admin are a collection of the greatest conscript dodgers of all time.

Somewhere in the Babybooomer generation we have lost awareness that the wool is being pulled over our eyes. I remember my Mother, a leftie, did not like Malcolm Fraser, who lived near us, up the bush back then. My Dad did and had him over as a guest speaker to the local RSL on what they called thier annual Smoke Night. And today we find Fraser fighting for civil rights and also a leftie, how far we have come.

What are the answers and solutions, bit much to think about now but interested to hear some other takes.

Thanks again 2020 for getting this going.

1.... Interesting, my Dad has been dead 40 years now .....

2. Interesting when Bobby said that the current Fed Admin are a collection of the greatest conscript dodgers of all time.

3. Somewhere in the Babybooomer generation we have lost awareness that the wool is being pulled over our eyes.

4. I remember my Mother, a leftie, did not like Malcolm Fraser, who lived near us, up the bush back then. 1. snap ;) .

2. draft dodgers ? - yep - and from memory, in Fahrenheit 9/11 only one senator (in good US patriotic tradition of this just war etc etc ) had a son involved - but they are good at sending the sons of others.

3. yep.

4. fascinating take lol - case well put. Fraser now a leftie, lol ;) You'd have to assume that he and Howard approached the top job from different directions. I heard him Fraser speak to an assembled APEX club meeting at Magnetic Island once - we'd flown down from PNG in an old wartime DC3 set up for parachuting - with seats around the sides lol (and so much beer on board that you couldn't see the blokes on the other side lol - no hosties to say ... "please stash those slabs under your seats !! ;)"

I was asked not to give him such a hard time with unsolicited interjections lol - (as I recall ;) - my memory was pretty blurred even the next day) .... for some reason Fraser was all blurry round the edges -

anyways , I should have said "whattaya mean, you don't like hard questions!?? - I thought life wasn't meant to be easy !!"

Bit like Bruce Baird, packing up in Canberra yesterday ( or Thursday whatever) - retiring etc (another good man bites the dust) ..

"An outspoken backbencher, or a mute minister? The choice pondered by Bruce Baird" .. (Politics, Federal) unfortunately the link to the ABC MP3's - from old newsroom tapes - crashes at the moment  - maybe try again in a few days .

I think I heard him say (Thursday) he seriously wished he'd spoken up about a heap of small "l" liberal things that still concern him - incl Iraq I think - and that he'd spoken up earlier.

How about Fraser and Whitlam combining for those TV ads in favour of Aus Republic ? lol.

Ahh - if only "Joh for PM" had succeeded lol
wussy students can finish their course in jail, etc
abolish the upper house ( Senate in this case - can go the way of the upper house in Qld).
all juries of Petersons and cronies to have one obstructionist juror

new position of "president / prime minster / king" Joh ;)

fascinating n.cruncher
George Bushes Scary Tactics - Olbermann

people high up in the white house don’t believe they have any intelligence about Iran
and there’s a credibility problem dicussed
-concludes with stolen (and blackmarketed) US rifles being used against US troops in Iraq

I liked Kennedys line ...

" We need an Informed public that recognise all the milestones of Tyranny "

So true, these Politicians etc who Influence the masses opinion via Televisions must be petrified of the Internet and its ability to deliver the truth to the ever growing number of people who seek it.

One scary thing is that it is Possible that Iran has deadly intentions but now that all credibility and trust seems to be eroded away, who knows how itll turn out.

RFK2 on global warming
Hardball: Robert Kennedy Jr. vs Melanie Morgan

we need to eliminate dependence on foreign oil
back in the 1979 we went from 18 mpg to 25.5 mpg in 6 yrs
we reduced oil import from mid east by 87%
if we left those standards intact we wouldn't have had to import a drop - would have avoided 2 gulf wars
we would be propsperous
wouldn't be tied down in iraq etc

btw rule of thumb ..
fuel consumption should be in litres per 100km ...
17 mpg = 17 lites per 100km
18 mpg = 16 lites per 100km
16 mpg = 18 lites per 100km

Y mpg = Z lites per 100km
where Y.Z = 17^2 = 289 approx

Robert F. Kennedy
one very eloquent speech - at short notice
The famous Indianapolis speech, in which RFK broke to a mostly black crowd the news of MLK's assassination, followed by a dramatic audio/video montage of the very moments of his own assassination. After it was over, eleven bullets were found altogether, although Shiran's gun could only carry eigth.

In 1968 Senator Robert F. Kennedy died from the injuries received on June 5, when he was shot by his assassin, Sirhan Sirhan

He continues to seek parole, with his team claiming that he had been acting under hypnosis carried out by the Rosicrucian's or a political organisation.
